Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
CSIC and Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, through their joint Excellence Campus initiative, partner in quantum computing and quantum technologies. In particular, both institutions have joined to create the Spanish IBM-Q Hub for quantum computation, offering quantum computing resources to their researchers and opening this platform to interested companies.
Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
UPM, through the team of Prof. Vicente Martín-Ayuso, has developed an unique expertise in the implementation of Quantum Key Distribution, including post-processing and error correction protocols, both in research and commercial environments. UPM collaborates with ITEFI-CSIC on the deployment of free-space QKD, including the first demonstrations of this technology in Spain.
Ion Trap and Laser Laboratory
University of Granada
The Ion Trap Laboratory, led by Prof. Daniel Rodríguez from the University of Granada, hosts a singular installation on trapped ion quantum technology for quantum metrology and quantum simulation. It features a Paul trap and a Penning trap working at 7 Tesla, featuring laser cooling and electric coupling. The Ion Trap Lab contributes to the emergent research lines on quantum computation and simulation in QTEP.
